Saving customized reports to data tableIt would be ideal to be able to save customized report to data table. We have several addins and customized reports where format, scripting, and some particular boxes can't be saved.
ScriptingUser InterfaceRe: Saving customized reports to data tableGot it now.
The best answer, in order to retain as much interactivity as possible will be for your add-in author to provide the functionality to save a script to the data that redoes the analysis. The only thing we will likely be able to do is to create a "journaled" version of the report window that will be largely static when regenerated. I'm investigating to see if there's a way to do this today.
Re: Saving customized reports to data tableTo clarify, "result" in Tzu-Chun's note would be a pointer to a DisplayBox tree / Report object.
Re: Saving customized reports to data tableI think we would like to see if there is a chance to have
result << Save Script for All Objects To Data Table;
or
result << Save Script To Data Table;
for customized report.
Re: Saving customized reports to data tableWe are creating display boxes with our add-ins. It is easy enough to save these as .JRP. The ask is whether instead of saving as a separate .JRP, whether there is a way to embed the resulting report into a red-triangle script of the data table.
Re: Saving customized reports to data table - Status changed to: Needs InfoRe: Saving customized reports to data tableWe need some more details here.
What exactly are you suggesting be saved to the data table? The JMP built-in platforms can save scripts back to the data table. These scripts re-run the built-in platforms. They don't save a description of the tables and graphs and just re-display them.
For custom report windows built by your scripts you would need to provide an option to save a script to the data table that would re-run your custom report window.
