JMP has been working on importing .sav files with multiple response type survey questions. This helps our users by reducing some of the data clean up steps when the data file is only available in this format.
When the survey response contains a comma, JMP will treat the comma as separating two different responses. Example in the attached screen shot. The questions was "What brands of laundry detergent have you used in the past 6 months? The response list included "Kirkland Signature, Costco" and "Other, please specify" along with several others like "Ajax", "All", "Tide". When imported, JMP recognizes that the brands belong to the same multiple response question. It brings it in as a character variable with just text (no value + value label as it does with the other questions). The commas in the responses like "Kirkland Signature, Costco" will display in reports as two different options "Kirkland Signature" and "Costco".
Would love to have JMP be able to handle the commas so the analysis of the columns in platforms like distribution and categorical are correct.
Image attached shows another example and how a categorical report with that column shows up with multiple entries.
I have traded several emails with JMP Support on this topic.

Great. Solving this will be really helpful for our users.
We're working on this for JMP 16.
