Use Recode tools with value labelsI would like to be able to use some of the recode features on value labels. There are many times that I need to clean up value labels in survey data files from suppliers or on-line survey companies. I would like to use some of the recode tools to clean up sections of text that are repeated in the value label. Right now the tools only seem to apply to the values.
In the attached example, I would like to be able to remove "SH1-Type of Store by products in past 12 months - Total -" from each of the value labels. I could do this by switching to just the test with codes to labels, recoding and then converting back using labels to codes. This requires extra steps and I would need to do value ordering or recode the values to maintain the original order.
