JSL: Ability to pass a variable out of encrypted JSL into a data table script/property in unencrypted formSituation: an encrypted script creates a variable (let's just call it "X" here) and then the same encrypted script tries to send the contents of "X" to a data table property via
Eval(Substitute(Expr(dt << Set Property("New Property",__x__)),Expr(__x__),X));
Current Behavior: property is created, but the contents are encrypted.
Idea: some sort of option or function to allow the encrypted add-in to write the variable out in its decrypted state. Not sure how this would work, maybe a function like this:
Decrpyt(X,password="myEncryptionPassword")
The specific use-case behind this idea is an add-in that creates a Constraint property for a data-table; the script iterates to create a variable that contains a valid Constraint property value where the number of constraints and number of variables can vary depending on the task submitted to the script.
ScriptingRe: JSL: Ability to pass a variable out of encrypted JSL into a data table script/property in unencrypted formIt's buried in the last paragraph of my initial request, butthe specific use case here is to create a Constraint property for the Profiler to respect. Since Profiler doesn't load a Constraint table variable (it is looking for a property), this idea of writing a variable doesn't solve this issue.
We are finding there are ways around the encryption problem we are having. It seems that if we build any property we want to write out as a string and use Eval Expr with the "^varname^" notation that we can usually get what we want. It just makes it harder to use the idea of Insert Into(), Arg(), and other Expression family functions when the script is encrypted.
Re: JSL: Ability to pass a variable out of encrypted JSL into a data table script/property in unencrypted form - Status changed to: Needs InfoI notice that Table Variables are not written encrypted.
//encrypt this to test
x="Hello";
nt=new table("My table");
nt << new table property("my prop", x);
nt << new table variable("my var", x);
Perhaps that's sufficient here.
