Sales Highlights
Pantex (31 Aug 2020 – US FedGov T2)
Pantex, the nation’s primary facility for the final assembly, dismantlement and maintenance of nuclear weapons, recently acquired two JMP Pro licenses.
Located in Amarillo, TX, Pantex is one of six production facilities in the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Nuclear Security Enterprise. Consolidated Nuclear Security manages and operates the facility along with the Y-12 National Security Complex in Tennessee under a single contract from the U.S. Department of Energy/NNSA.
In 2019, the FedGov T2 team visited the Y-12 Lab in Knoxville, TN, for the first time. Robyn Godfrey says, “The process started in June 2019 when Ted Berry contacted folks at Y-12 and got us a meeting. More than 70 engineers and scientists attended that presentation, with another 15 in Amarillo at the Pantex Plant. Throughout the pandemic, we consistently offered unique webcasts that focused on how to use JMP in an engineering environment. We continued to nudge them with these webcasts, in which Rob Lievense provided information on process control, DOE, machine learning and AI.”
All the nudging paid off when research scientists at Pantex, who had never used JMP before, purchased two JMP Pro licenses. Says Edward Graef, Pantex scientist, “We look forward to exploring the regression capabilities and trend analysis, as well as machine learning and AI in JMP Pro.”

Orion (07 Jul 2020 – Nordics)
Orion, the Finland-based pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets human and veterinary pharmaceuticals and active pharmaceutical ingredients, recently added 10 JMP licenses.
Klaus Lenander used LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify a contact at Orion and reached out in February. But Klaus had his work cut out for himself. “Since Orion used Minitab, I had a tough time convincing them to meet with me and Christian Ramskov Larsen, but we finally scheduled a meeting. Christian focused on DOE, and we pressed them for details on how they currently worked. We persuaded them to download the JMP trial and then demonstrated how JMP and the agility it brings could help solve some of their ongoing production challenges. Specifically, we showed them how JMP DOE could solve a problem they had been struggling with for months. They had no clear way of picturing how multiple factors were affecting their response and the Profiler in JMP was the perfect fit for them,” says Klaus.
Orion was convinced, deciding to test 10 users over a 12-month period. Christian and Klaus plan to continue nurturing Orion throughout the year. “There is a great potential at Orion and, hopefully, we will see some of this potential within a 12-month period,” concludes Klaus.

World Central Kitchen Fundraiser Continues!
JMP’s campaign to support World Central Kitchen (WCK) is ongoing, so you still have time to help us reach our target of $5,000. WCK provides fresh meals to people affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises, including the COVID-19 crisis. Thanks to all who have contributed so far. "This is a global collaborative effort with our JMP family and friends to support global food insecurity to those directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic," says Lori Harris.
