Sales Highlights
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (14 Aug 2020 – NY)
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, a leading biotechnology company that produces medicines for people with serious diseases, is a long-time JMP user that recently added 13 JMP Pro licenses.
The Regeneron Statistics and Quality Team has been using JMP for more than 10 years, having standardized on JMP as its platform for internal statistical training courses for various teams, including Quality & Manufacturing, R&D and Process Engineering. JMP is also its primary analytical tool in its validated manufacturing environments.
But Regeneron needed more, specifically help with scaling up its manufacturing process. According to Brendan Leary, “The goal of scale up is to identify and develop a process that will successfully produce a desired product when manufactured at a commercial scale. Regeneron plans to use JMP Pro’s Functional Data Explorer (FDE) and Functional DOE (FDOE) as it scales up, moving from the small scale to the large. Regeneron will use FDE and FDOE to understand how changes in size affect a number of physical and chemical phenomena within its pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. With JMP Pro, Regeneron expects that it can minimize losses in time and resources by refining its process during each phase of scale up.”
Brendan says that Mike Anderson’s demos helped seal the deal. “Mike found a way to weave JMP Pro’s capabilities into a standard JMP demo. As a team, we like to call this ‘the art of the possible’ with JMP Pro, and the tenacity with this approach paid off. Early on, we identified the scale-up problem during a tour of Regeneron’s manufacturing facility. Mike showed Regeneron how FDE and FDOE could be potential empirical solutions to a problem its Fluid Dynamics team had been attempting to solve for years,” concludes Brendan.

Orcas Chen says that Inphi Taiwan’s data center has seen a spike in its workload and needed something to help with its daily work. That something was JMP. According to Orcas, “Inphi will use DOE in JMP to analyze big data to increase the stability of its data center and to provide better service to its users.”
