Online Summit? Is the 2020 Discovery Summit scheduled for Cary this October 13-16 going to be online only?
Re: Online Summit? Its too bad that this will be online, but it is completely understandable and it could provide some unique opportunities. I like the real time data gathering idea, especially if that can be worked into a presentation.
I wonder if e-posters could be done like a Zoom room, where people can pop in and out.
I also wonder if we put out that it will be online, will more people put together papers since there is not a concern about travel.
Re: Online Summit? One advantage I see in the online conference is that all sessions should be recorded, so there should not be as much of an issue with missing out because of conflicts with other sessions.
There might be additional opportunities to do live data gathering from attendees for demonstration purposes since everyone will be at their computer.
Re: Online Summit? Thanks Jeff. Initial thought is that I will miss the networking part and especially the time to have one-on-one discussions with the developers. Look forward to thinking about this more and how to make online discovery successful. Hope everyone on the steering committee is safe.
Re: Online Summit?Funny you should post this just now. As you can imagine there have been many conversations internally about this including a big one today.
Short answer, is yes, JMP Discovery will be online this fall. At this point, we are not planning on getting JMP users together in person.
We'll be sending an invitation for a meeting shortly where we'd your input on what you think JMP Discovery online should look like. The invitation will include some prompts to get your thinking started but feel free to use this thread to get the process started.
We do want to know what you think, so post below.
