Sample size for Survival analysis? Can we help calculate sample size for survival analysis?
I know that survival and reliability are related (one is inverse of the other, sort of) but does that mean that the reliability test plan could be used for survival as well?

Re: Sample size for Survival analysis? Thanks. I passed along your questions and comment verbatim and encouraged her to post the question and answers to the ones you posed to the Discussions forum where other could weigh in (and still others could benefit from the responses).
I'll let you know if she does.

Re: Sample size for Survival analysis? Thanks, @DonMcCormack.
I didn't get any more detail from customer but now, thanks to you, I have more questions I can ask to get it.
I appreciate the help. I'll respond here with answers (if I get them).
Re: Sample size for Survival analysis?Jeff,
Depends what your goal is. Is this a question of estimating a survival curve under typical conditions? A designed experiment? If so, are their accelerating conditions? What are you interested in estimating? Parameters of the distribution you're fitting? A confidence interval around a given quantile? Do you have any historical data to help with the modeling?
In most cases, the answer can be found in one of the existing platforms in JMP. You may need to use the Simulate capability in Pro to get at some of the more challanging question, however.
