This was sent to all Discovery Summit Munich registrants today:
Concerned about the coronavirus?
Like you, we're concerned about the coronavirus outbreak. We want you to know that SAS is following guidelines and recommendations on COVID-19 provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are also following recommendations from International SOS as they relate to travel.
For Discovery Summit Munich, specifically, these are the measures we are taking to keep colleagues, customers and all attendees healthy.
- We will be cleaning touch surfaces frequently, including doors, handles, keyboards and touch-screens.
- We will make alcohol-based hand rub available throughout the conference facility.
- We are advising attendees to skip the cheek kiss, hug and handshake this year, and to greet one another with a fist bump, namaste salutation or perhaps a parade wave.
- We are asking any registrants who are sick to skip this year's European Discovery Summit.
- We are asking that any registrants who have traveled through or from any infected region within 30 days of the event to complete the required 14-day quarantine period prior to attending. Please refer to the WHO's most recent situation report for the up-to-date list of outbreaks. We do not have any registrants from mainland China, Hong Kong, South Korea or Taiwan.
We hope these measures will help you feel comfortable about connecting with fellow data explorers at Discovery Summit Munich. We'll just plan to share ideas and best practices -- not germs.
For any questions concerning your specific situation contact Lori Harris.
To your health!
