Is there a simple way to add the JMP add-in to Excel?
I've tried this before, but i've not been able to get it to work yet.
Thanks!
Hi Marianne,
Do you know if the 64-bit version of 13 will still be available to users that would rather have a 64-bit JMP instead of the Excel Add-In?
Most of my Excel->JMP work is done using the Excel wizard in JMP itself, which has always worked out pretty great for me as I'm typically focused on working in JMP, not Excel. Am I missing out on anything groundbreaking by not utilizing the Add-In?
Thanks!
Hi DET
The short answer is: if it doesn't work, there's nothing to do about it.
The long answer:
There is an issue with the JMP Excel Add-in due to bitness difference. Excel is 32-bit, so for the Add-In to work, JMP must also be 32-bit. For JMP to be distributed easily to the 1000+ NZ users, Atos makes a 'package', which is either 32-bit or 64-bit.
The JMP Excel Add-In should be working in JMP 11, as this was packaged as 32-bit.
JMP 12 was packaged as 64-bit, so here it does not work.
The JMP 13 package is/will be 32-bit, so should work. Note that the initial package they made (Feb/March) was pulled back, as it didn't include the JMP Excel add-in (and it cannot be installed afterwards because of the way they make the package). I pressed for an update on the corrected package yesterday, but still have no timeline.
