stepwise regression

Question

I am trying to find a way to limit the number of parameters in the stepwise option. For example, I have 40 varibles in my dataset and I would like to have a maximum of 8 variables in the stepwise model. Is it possible to do this in JMP?

In the Stepwise dialog you can click the red triangle next to "Stepwise Fit" and choose "All Possible Models". Then  specify 8 for "Maximum number of terms in a model", and some larger number for "Number of best models to see". You could then sort the resulting output by AICc ascending.
