JMP INFO: If your JMP license has expired...Find out, which JMP version, you are using: Click on “Help” and “About JMP”. If you are using JMP version 12.1 or later, see below. If you are using JMP version 12.0 or earlier: Ask Atos!
When trying to open JMP, an error message occurs: “Your license for JMP expired on…”. The same message allows you to either click on “Continue” or to “Open License”. The first option can only be used until March 15.
If you click “Open License”, you are prompted for the location of the license file. Point to the directory R:\NZALL\Shareall\Statistics\JMP_Licenses\12 (for JMP version 12.1 or 12.2) or R:\NZALL\Shareall\Statistics\JMP_Licenses\13 (for JMP version 13.0, 13.1 or 13.2), where R is the drive letter for the drive NZfileshares (\\nzww.nzcorp.net).
Then choose the license file: Either the file JMP.PER or a txt file with a very long name… (Either file can be used, as indicated by JMP).
After finishing this procedure, JMP confirms, that the JMP license has been updated.
Note: This post has been updated with a new title, no other changes.
Re: JMP INFO: If your JMP license has expired...Hi Jesper
Thanks for your comment. This is indeed also an option. However, the folder that JMP.PER should be copied into, could unfortunately also have other names. If you have had several versions of JMP installed, be sure to replace the most recent version of the JMP.PER file.
Or, as other users have pointed out, make sure to work as administrator, when you update the license file.
Sincerely,
Birger
Re: JMP INFO: If your JMP license has expired...I just talked to another user who was having the problem with "your license has expired" prompt still appearing, and running the program "as Administrator" solved the problem for her.
As mentioned above, to do this, open JMP by right-clicking the JMP program icon and choose "Run as Administrator" . Then follow the usual license installation procedure and it should stick.
Re: JMP INFO: If your JMP license has expired...Thank you all for the tips! I will forward to other users who had the issue and hopefully that fixes it for them.
Re: JMP INFO: If your JMP license has expired...So running the program as an administrator seemed to fix the problem for me.
Also, make sure the license file you are loading was updated in 2018.
This file path should work: R:\NZALL\Shareall\Statistics\JMP_Licenses\13
This may only be an issue for JMP 13. I talked to ATOS and they pushed updated licenses for every JMP version except JMP 13 to my computer, which they say they do not support. FYI
Re: JMP INFO: If your JMP license has expired...I copied JMP.PER to "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAS\JMP_Licenses" before I opened it from JMP - maybe that helps?

Re: JMP INFO: If your JMP license has expired...Note that it is not enough to be administrator on your PC, you have to right-click on the JMP icon and choose Run as Administrator.
Re: JMP INFO: If your JMP license has expired...If you open JMP (without renewing the license again) and check the About JMP (under Help) and have the new expiration date (14-12-2018) then I don't get it... Maybe a JMP bug affecting the startup window?
If you have the old expiration date - did you run JMP as administrator when you renewed the license? It might make a difference. You can also try:
- Start JMP (as administrator).
- From JMP's File menu, select New then Script.
- Type the following command into the script window:
<FONT face="Courier New" size="3">Renew License();</FONT>
- From JMP's Edit menu, select Run Script.
- JMP will ask for the new license data file. Navigate to the license file and select it.
Re: JMP INFO: If your JMP license has expired...Several users in NZCA and NZSF have found that despite renewing the licence (and JMP showing the renewed license), the "your license has expired" prompt still appears when they open the software. Any idea what that is for some users but not all?
