Social media data for Text Explorer

Hello,

a UK professor (Marketing) is looking for social media data to be used in Text Explorer (teaching Marketing analytics). Is anybody aware of a source for such data which could make sense in text analysis?

(We tried the Twitter Streaming API in R - which delivers data that is not really useful).
