August 13 Statistically Speaking – Demystifying Machine Learning and AI for the Defense Community
4 Stars Expert guidance on making the most of machine learning, Stat Speaking Event, includes Dick DeVeaux keynote, The Seven Deadly Sins of Machine Learning. Excellent panel presentation with Dick, Russ Wolfinger and Julia O’Neill
4 Stars Solving science and engineering problems with machine learning, Stat Speaking Event, Very strong resource. European based speakers, but in-depth discussion (keynote) on deep learning, AI and strong/engaging panel.
4 Stars What is Machine Learning (and can JMP do it), JMP Blog, 1st part of Elizabeth Claassen’s blog series. Good introductory discussion of concepts around machine learning and outlines all the different machine learning algorithms JMP can do. Promotes the free trial.
3 Stars Mission-Oriented Analytics: New Methods for the Intelligence Community, Analytically Speaking, Industry connection, Alyson Wilson, NCSU, works on bringing analytics more into the intelligence community to influence foreign policy and national security. Also a good discussion on differences between machine learning and AI. 32 views in 2020, not popular.
3 Stars Applying machine learning: Will I beat my husband at pool on my birthday? JMP Blog, 2nd part of Elizabeth Claassen’s blog series. Uses a fun example of machine learning algorithm. Like the connections this blog makes. Think it does a good job of humanizing our experts and our business.
2 Stars Smart Machine Learning for Manufacturers, White Paper = Not a perfect match because it’s manufacturing example, but interesting discussions around merging machine learning with statistician knowledge – human and machine.
1 Star Machine Learning Drives Innovation in High-Tech Manufacturing, Customer Success Story, Not a strong asset because it’s the semiconductor industry, but does provide an example of machine learning implementation. It’s also a pretty surface level discussion, but it does get decent traffic and is featured on our success story home page.

August 27 Technically Speaking – Design of Experiment in Lean Product Development
4 Stars Optimizing Processes with Design of Experiments, White Paper – the most popular (views/day) asset we have in Resource Center; best at generating registrations in Salesforce. Really good, high-level discussion of DOE and the benefits it can bring a company.
4 Stars The power of structured experimentation in science and engineering, Statistically Speaking – More advanced. High quality production. Keynote is Peter Goos and the panel is strong companies and good speakers from Microsoft, Riffyn and Corning. Brad Jones also is on the panel.
4 Stars The JMP Design of Experiments Advantage, White Paper – 5th most popular (view/day) asset in the Resource Center; 2nd best at registrations in Salesforce. Little more advanced, takes a different angle thank Optimizing Process with DOE, idea of using custom designs.
3 Stars Optimal Design of Experiments: A Case Study Approach, Book Chapter – Good outline of a designed experiment w/Brad Jones and Peter Goos. Clearly highlights noted DOE experts. It’s a little older, 2011, but well written and a strong chapter.
3 Stars Leading companies innovate with statistically designed experiments, Statistically Speaking – No keynote. This is the event from Mountain View CA. It is a panel with some interesting folks (Coherent, Lundbeck, Applied Materials and Brad Jones), but is more of a higher level conversation around DOE. Brad’s case study is very interesting. Very well produced and looks awesome – presents the JMP brand in an awesome light.
3 Stars Specialized Custom DOE for Experienced Experimenters, Mastering Webinar – Good for more advanced DOE folks. Would be good to say “go deeper.” Tom Donnelly presents two different case studies. Good Q&A.
3 Stars Optimizing Your Process With Design of Experiments, Tech Speaking Event – 3rd most popular (views/day) and 3rd most popular at generating registrations in Salesforce. Strong webinar, talks about how to use DOE to deliver hard to manufacture products. Good case study.
2 Stars JMP On-Air Doctor DOE series, JOA videos in the JMP Community, this is a series of 5 or 6 20-minute segments that tackle topics related to DOE. Various JMP presenters including Brad Jones. More specific topics, but more focused discussions. Also shows our breadth of DOE experts and humanizes our business a bit with these more casual discussions.
2 Stars Statisticians help secure a competitive edge in manufacturing, Customer Success Story, Highlights W.L Gore in Germany. Great example of how the company uses DOE to improve their products, so the topic is very relevant. Not great depth.
