histogram visual configuration

Can I configure histograms such that every time I create one it shows the counts axis and count axis? I am trying to avoid having to do it manually each time.

Sure. Check out the Platforms section of Preferences (File->Preferences on Windows, JMP->Preferences on the Mac).

In the Distribution platform section you can turn on Count Axis and other preferences.
