Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionI think organizing by topic would be helpful. I am definitely interested in helping out!
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionHi Wendy. thanks. What topic would you chose to cover?
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionI’d be happy to do a room. I prefer to play “stump the chump” so any topic or a general q&a room would be fine for me.Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionI am happy to cover a room. Room ideas I would volunteer for
Ask the expert - Attendee brings something they are stuck on
Platform based rooms - DOE, MSA, Pred Modeling would be my first pics but can do most topics
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionI am willing to help out with a room. I would be happy to do a room on Data Manipulation. I tend to get a lot of questions on that. What is the timing you are thinking?
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionThanks. Do you think it would be good to ask SEs and TEs to have a short list of common questions in case I have to pepper the questions to get things started? I am thinking 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, noral Mastering JMP time 2-3 pm ET either Th Nov. 12 or Fri. Nov. 13. Do those dates seem ok and do you have a preference Th or F?
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionHi Jason. What do you think about 2 types of rooms - some topics assigned to SE/TEs and some BRING YOUR PROBLEM rooms assigned to SE/TEs. Do you think it will be confusing to customers to handle open topics as well as larger problems? And, if OK combining, which would you prefer - topic or open problems?
I am thinking 2-3 pm ET TH Nov. 12 or FR Nov. 13. Do those dates sound ok?
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionThanks, MIke. I wrote Jason and this applies to you , too:

I am thinking 2-3 pm ET TH Nov. 12 or FR Nov. 13. Do those dates sound ok?

Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionI can do a session on Model Building/Selection and/or Text Analytics.
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionI can help out. I can do anything related to Quality (SPC: Control Charts, MSA, Process Capability) or DOE.
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionData prep, graphing, modeling, DOE, quality control
I'm less comfortable with scripting and the multivariate platforms.
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionDates sound good and rooms sound good. We have been doing open ad hoc demo and Q&A at the end of our learning sessions with some success. I anticipate this being similar. The trick might be the interaction part of Bring Your Problem. Could we do Bring Your Problem based on a topic area? At least this way, everyone signing on has the same general interest/problem. In our Q&A sessions most people are lurkers and want to learn from what others are struggling with. If everyone is a lurker then we could have a simple demo or two prepared around the topic to prime the pump for more questions.
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionHappy to help here, Gail! I could lead a Stump the Chump room or a topic room (Data prep, graphing, SPC, modeling, DOE); put me where you need me. And great idea with using a list of 'common questions' to prime the audience, in case we have a room full of lurkers. A mini demo (i.e. 15 minutes) on a particular topic might also achieve a similar result.
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionHi Gail,
Happy to talk to total newbies; people just getting started with JMP type folks. I'll assume some computer skills and excel skills but little else. Give me the newbies, please.
Thanks.
Chuck
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts Sessionthanks. I am glad you like the idea of backup questions. There is street cred when we say these are common 'customer' questions. I think we want to push people to ask and so will probably not have any prepared demo.
Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionHi,
I think it would be useful to have an open Q&A for SEs and TEs to answer questions using break rooms in Zoom Meetings. Not sure whether to do this by subject (like DOE, Exploratory Modeling, Predictive Modeling, etc.) and let SEs/TEs choose the topic they want to cover OR whether to just have an open room for each SE/TE who volunteers.
People will be able to leave a room and I can reassign them to another room.
1. What are your thoughts about offering this to all customers?
2. Are you willing volunteer for a room?
3. What do you think will be most useful to customers and manageable by you? One room per topic or One room per person. That is, they enter a room if they are interested in a topic or I randomly assign attendees to any room hosted by one of you.
Please let me know what you think about the idea and also other suggestions about how this might suit your needs.
Thanks! GAIL
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionHi Gail and All-- Just returning from vaca and catching up.
I'm also happy to help. Any topic is fine with me.
As a suggestion for discussion, we (Midwest) team have been offering sessions that combine a topic and open Q/A. For instance, I'll talk about Table Joins and Stacking for 10-15 mins, then open it up to any questions (about Tables or anything else). That gives the meeting some structure. We have agendas for the topics going out 8-10 weeks so people know what is coming up. See below for a list of our agendas/topics.
We do these for both open sessions (any Midwest company can attend) and targeted at specific companies.
One question: Since this will presumably be open to anyone in Americas (?), will there be a way to track attendees so that local teams can follow up?

Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionThanks for sharing your approach, Jerry. How many people do you usually get? Are the questions you get more about the software (e.g., how do i run distribution) vs how do I figure out xyz?) Could I be a fly on the wall to this Thursday's session?
If SEs are doing this on their own with great success, a Mastering session might not be necessary or best use of time.
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionHi Gail-- You (and anyone else) are welcome to join in our sessions! This link should get you in:

1:00-2:00 ET on Thursdays.
As for attendance, we are ramping up the "open" sessions. We started out just inviting Midwest clients with 1-2 JMP licenses. That got a good core of 8-10 people. We are now in the midst of expanding to 1-10 licenses. We have crept up to 15-20 people, but are expecting more this week. The initial thought was to give these small clients a way to support each other, possibly resulting in a small business user groups. It also lets us develop champions in larger businesses that have few licenses, hoping to grow them more over time.
(As we grow that group, I may have to initiate another session so I can go back and cover earlier topics for new people.)
For the Dr Is In sessions for specific companies, we've had anywhere from a handful up to well over 100. Depends on the topic, summer vacations, etc. I guess the net is that I don't expect any particular attendance level, I just keep going and people come & go as needed. These are not nearly as frequent. We let the client decide on the cadence. And we're starting these with our biggest clients, and extending to others as time permits.
I would say the questions are more of "How can I get this information out of my data", though I also get "How do I change the font size in this GraphBuilder graph."
I also get hard questions that I can't answer on the fly. At first I was saying "I'll get back to you on that." Now, in order to stimulate discussion, I'll often say "Hmmmm... I haven't run across that before. Has anyone else?" That plays to the "Start a User Group" theme, whether across small businesses or within companies.
Last thing for this post: How do we measure success/effectiveness? I don't have a good answer for this right now. This was just started as an outreach to help grow people in their JMP familiarity, in hopes that it will organically/eventually grow JMP licenses. I don't know if we'll ever be able to connect those dots. Suggestions from others are welcome on that topic!:)
Re: Volunteer for Nov. Zoom Ask Your Questions/Dr. In/ Ask the JMP Experts SessionGail, I'm a little late to the game but I'd be happy to help out. Topics I'd be interested in covering are, Getting Started, DOE, predictive modeling, preparing data for analysis, time series, and graph builder.
Thanks,
Peter
