Issues:
www.jmp.com/jac: After sign-in you get to home page in main user community. >> Mia / Stan?
Access from main user community: Too much hidden under Other Communities.
Nobody follows the academic community space:
- Follow button not visible before user login
Ideas:
After an academic JMP installation
- Open browser with JMP Academic Community web site
- Automatically enrol new academic users, auto-follow? >> Julian - DanV and dev team (Bob, Brian)
- First Tip of the Day with JMP 13: Welcome Kit - have new users page instead?
Auto-follow rule based on profile information?
https://community.jivesoftware.com/docs/DOC-136802
Add a page (Jive document) for new academic users?
- Getting started: How to join, edit profile, follow, upload content, start discussions, etc.
(Auto-)registration of attendees after campus workshops, conferences?
Investigate real needs of academic users
- Are most important needs covered well? (just grab free resources?)
- Any needs not supported?
- How to make the community more attractive? Assignments or challenges? Visual fun stuff?

Prep notes (Volker)
Followers: No group membership - we need users to actively click on ‘Follow'.
Why are no external users following our community?
Users...
… don’t know about it?
… do know about but don’t want to do it?
… do want to follow but don’t figure out how to do it?
… tried it but unfollowed after bad experience?
Each of us to invite five(?) users (professors / champions)
- to follow our community
- to create a profile (incl. at least university name, expertise and picture)
- to complete at least one upload of user content
- to share content and invite other users
Support them where needed. Monitor and log success and feedback (track progress and feedback from selected users in team space?).
How can we better promote the community?
Exclusive content?
- Bundle with One-Page Guides
- Textbook add-ins
- Recorded webcasts (in addition to most recent webcasts, keep all topics at least once?)
Must-go (must join? must follow?) location?
- Workshop follow-up, instead of email?
- Conference follow-up?
Restart email requests or questions in the community
- Educate users - community as starting point
- Ensure visibility
Inside Sales
- Do our colleagues promote the community to all new users? (customers, trials. etc.?)
New Academic Suite - Welcome Kit?
- Three communities: User, Admin, Academic
Better visibility and accessibility from main user community?
How can we improve the content, or make the community more attractive?
