Sample Size and Power PlatformWe need your input. In JMP 16 we are adding a new Sample Size Explorers platform under the DOE menu. The intention is to ultimately replace the legacy Sample Size and Power Platform.
Most of the functionality from the old platform is included in the new platform, which will be much more interactive and comprehensive. We need your input on two of the calculators in the old platform: Counts per Unit and Sigma Quality Level.
Do you have customers using these two calculators? Do we need to include this functionality in the new platform?
Thank you!

Re: Sample Size and Power PlatformWe absolutely have customers that use the sigma quality calculator. It is very nice to have especially when teaching. Not sure how much the counts per unit calculator is used globally. I can say that at least one company (my last) has used it. I think it is nice to have.
Hope this helps:)
Re: Sample Size and Power PlatformThe Sigma Quality Level calculator is a nice to have for teaching. Most programs use Excel calculators while teaching LSS, it would be good for JMP to have both the discrete & continuous calculators available. I was sad when the continuous Sigma Level Calculator went away with the changes in the Distribution platform in 15, but it is accessible through scripting and the Enable Legacy Fitters platform.
Re: Sample Size and Power PlatformThanks for your responses @Jason_Wiggins and @alisa_h_lowery. Anyone else have customers using these calculators?
Re: Sample Size and Power PlatformHi Mia,
I know that some customers do these calculations, but nt sure if they use JMP for that or simply Excel or Minitab.
If it does not cost much I would leave them in.
Best,
Mártin
Re: Sample Size and Power PlatformThank you for this input Martin! The current plan is to keep the current Sample Size and Power platform in JMP 16, and to add these features to the new Sample Size Explorers platform in JMP 17. Will add details when the plan is more firm.
