Edwards Vacuum, a global leader in vacuum and abatement, recently acquired three JMP Pro and four standard JMP licenses. Edwards plans to use JMP in its newly created innovation center in Hillsboro, OR, for chemical testing and processing massive amounts of data.
Juliette Plager explains that the sale was an offshoot of JMP’s presence at Intel: “Our main contact used to work at Intel. While she didn’t use JMP there herself, she reached out to us based on a former colleague’s recommendation. Her background is in analytical chemistry and forensic chemistry. We had an exploratory call in August 2019, just as Edwards began building out its innovation lab, knowing that any purchase wouldn’t happen for three or four months. (It turns out it was more like nine months.) In November 2019, Jordan Hiller and I went on-site and met with eight people – all brand new to JMP. We brought them lunch and Jordan introduced them to JMP and JMP Pro functionality, including distribution, graphing, DOE and FDE. They were impressed. We followed up with them regularly until the purchase this month.”
Juliette concludes, “Edwards did their due diligence with other software, but we got in early and they were hooked.”
