Does anyone know if it is possible to change the formatting of the cumulative % label in the pareto plot?
This was made using the Failure.jmp sample data table and Analyze --> Quality and Process --> Pareto Plot as shown below:
If you don't want to use JSL, you can always use Graph Builder. But you will have to Sort the table on N and then make a Cum % column.
Table attached for an example. More work, but scalable and flexible.
I also had to modify graph properties (right click) to have proportion of 1 for bar width, sort in graph, use Cum % as Label and have Rows show labels.
JSL allows one to do this kind of thing:
NamesDefaultToHere(1); // Make the report dt = Open("$SAMPLE_DATA/Quality Control/Failure.jmp"); pp = dt << Pareto Plot( Cause( :failure ), Freq( :N ), Label Cum Percent Points( 1 ) ); // Modify the report - segs[5] seems to be a text segment holding the percentages Wait(2); ppRep = Report(pp); segs = ppRep[FrameBox(1)] << findSegs; segs[5] << setFont({"Helvetica Neue", 20, "Plain", 0});
Thanks, Ian. I was hoping to set the format to 0 decimal places but I don't think << set format is an option. ???
On closer examination, it turns out that segs[5] (see above) is a 'CustomStreamSeg' (and not a 'TextSeg' as I stated). So it doesn't respond to the 'getText' and 'setText' messages, which might have given the chance to do the rounding you want. So I think you are probably out of luck with this approach, unfortunately.
With a little work you could dispense with the in-built labels and put them back to your liking with a custom graphics script.
Might not be a bad idea to post this on the Internal Wish List. Pareto is long overdue for some upgrades.
Thanks so much @Chris_Kirchberg !
