How do users request software? - Internal SW request site
They have built an add-in manager that lets users decide which add-ins to install. The add-in manager uses a column selection interface. The add-in manager also goes and checks for new versions of the add-in so they can keep developing them. It looks like there are over 30 add-ins. Stan helped with some deployment issues Feb 2019. -LH

Notes on Technical Engagement
February 17, 28, 2019 – upcoming onsite meeting, OH – Modeling. Bill Worley.
I received a LinkedIn message from Jonathan Tan, one of my former co-workers at P&G. Jonathan at one time headed up the reliability efforts for P&G globally. That was almost 5 years ago and I am not sure if that still holds true today.
Anyway, Jonathan asked for a primer on JMP regarding model building and variable selection for himself and some members of his team. This is something that should probably be handled internally by the P&G stats community, but I offered up a couple of dates to go in and meet with Jonathan and team, more because he is a friend than anything else. Wanted you all to know what is going on and I will let you know what I hear back from him.
Jonathan is a pretty brilliant guy in his own right. He wrote some amazing macros for Excel regarding reliability and that is one of the main reasons there is little to no JMP used in the P&G reliability program.
*more follow-up after visit*
February 27, 28, 2019 – Remote meeting, OH – Text Explorer. Laura Higgins.
- Scott Reese is using Text Explorer. One issue is how to eliminate terms that aren’t useful, so the signal of what remains goes up (% varaiation explained by rotated topics). He was pulling out words but didn’t understand this changes the DTM, so all aspects of analysis. I showed him clustering (should you be doing the same analysis on all you customers, or should we divide comments up that are similar, etc.). I also showed him how to put topics into GenReg, LASSO to get rid of unimportant terms, use variable importance to re-order for importance. We followed up on the 28th with some info about looking at the topic term list and using the absolute value to see how the top topics are listed (but what’s the cutoff).
