Training
Americas
Their internal JMP training points back at the JMP site and uses many of our resources, including the New User Welcome Kit, Getting Started with JMP and a few Mastering JMP webinars. They have interest in STIPS and certification. Discussed program in July 2020 to learn they're discussing modernizing their training program as most are offered in-person and people want self-paced, on-line content. Current offerings are: 1) Data Exploration 2) Understanding Data (30 min) 3) Intro to Stats (described as 'similar to STIPS") 4) SPC (taught in JMP) 5) DOE (taught in JMP) 6) Data Collection (prereq for DOE) 7) Inspection Handling. Approximately 100-200 individuals engage in training/year. New hires are trained based on their job role, and others take courses that is promoted via word of mouth. Some European sites and Puerto Rico do these sessions too. Richard Li in NJ is hoping to being some training for his people. Kevin in Indy works with the Chinese sites for training which are similar to the US offering.
Update - as of March 2022, Eli Lilly has integrated STIPS into their e-Learning. They use brightcove video links to share relevant videos and integrate with their own content.
Europe
Anthony Maguire has offered ad-hoc training (mix of engineers, scientists, people from analysis labs) in the past. Niamh Ducey now occasionally holds training courses for smaller groups (10-15 people). Recently switched to 1on1 sessions. She was a Statistics Tutor at University College Cork before.

Notes on Technical Engagement
Activity
- 08.02.2019 On site meeting at Lilly Technology Center, Laura Higgins and Pete Hersh.
- 75 people that work at that facility with Kari Britt. R&D, Process Development, Biologists, Biochemists, Process Engineers. Only about half the room were JMP users.
- Host – Kari Britt, also there to support was Nancy Lerch, Michael Cole see contacts at top
- Topics – Graph Builder and Introduction to Dashboards and Scripting presented by Pete Hersh – used White Polymer for an example; Help Lounge. Well attended, good questions. The goal for Kari was to get people to graph their data and automate what they are working on. Several people did want help developing the process of simple data summary and graph automation in the help lounge. The White Polymer was requested as a manufacturing example – the big product they work on is mass manufacturing a plastic pen that injects a drug they make, so they live in both drug and device manufacturing FDA regulation.
- Scripting use – they have validated scripts for FDA manufacturing they use and must re-validate these for each version of JMP. Nancy Lerch owns many of these.
- Training – their internal JMP training points back at the JMP site and uses many of our resources, including the Welcome Kit, Getting Started with JMP and a few Mastering JMP webcasts. They have interest in STIPS and certification.
- 7-8.05.2019 On site meeting at Lilly Corporate Center, Indianapolis, Laura Higgins, Chris Kirchberg, Bill Worley and Pete Hersh.
- 175 people that work locally in Indianapolis R&D, Process Development, Biologists, Biochemists, Process Engineers. Only about 2/3 of the room were JMP users.
- Host – Kari Britt, also there to support was Nancy Lerch, Chris Daprile.
- Topics – EDA-Laura, What’s New in JMP 14-Pete, Help Lounge -All lots of questions, Getting Started-Laura, Prepping your data for analysis – Chris, Data Mining – Bill, Graph Builder – Bill, JSL- Chris, DoE- Pete
- JMPC and JMPG introduction with Chris on May 8th
