Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Inspector General (VA OIG), which serves veterans and the public by conducting effective oversight of the programs and operations of the VA through independent audits, inspections, reviews and investigations, recently purchased 15 JMP Pro licenses.

In January, the FedGov T2 team hosted a “What’s New in JMP 15” event at the SAS office in Arlington. Robyn Godfrey was disappointed when the contact at the VA didn’t attend, but she followed up and found that while he was new to JMP, he’d been a long-time SAS user. Robyn was encouraged when he told her he felt that the capabilities of JMP provided “a more accessible analytics platform since most of our staff are not statisticians.”
Robyn explains what happened next: “We conducted a precall where we learned that the team conducts surveys, working with maps and text analytics, and needed analytical modeling and machine learning capabilities. We pressed for an on-site visit where we could demonstrate the power of JMP and learn more about what this group needs in the way of analytics. While the meeting had only a few attendees, it yielded big results. We had two high-level managers in the room who were impressed with JMP and knew they needed it for the team. As a result, VA OIG purchased 15 new annual licenses of JMP Pro.”
