Toppan Printing Co., Ltd., one of the top printing companies in the world, recently added 13 JMP licenses, for a deal worth $8,900. Toppan uses printing technology to expand into liquid crystal and semiconductor components, as well as packaging materials.
Toppan’s use of JMP began small, originally with two users in 2013, but has been gradually expanding with this new acquisition, bringing its user base to 111 as of February; the majority of users are at The Toppan Technical Research Institute (TTRI).
Seiji Yamanaka explains, “TTRI leads Toppan's R&D efforts and aims to create new businesses, as well as new products for existing business. TTRI is composed of two main sections: The Fundamental Technology Research Laboratory, which develops new businesses and expands the range of Toppan's technologies; and The Business Development Research Laboratory, which works on original products with a competitive edge.”
"We'd like to improve statistics, JMP education and in-house training again this year to accelerate JMP deployment," says Mr. Kaneda, TTRI’s JMP administrator. Seiji concludes, “To support TTRI with these plans to expand and upgrade, the Japan T1 Semi team will offer web seminars in Q2.”
