Shanghai Amphenol Airwave, a global leader in interconnect products and systems, added 10 JMP licenses to its existing four. Shanghai Amphenol plans to use JMP for statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (MSA) to increase yield and reduce costs.
According to Iris Yuan, “Originally, Shanghai Amphenol bought four JMP licenses to help with quality reports. After building a relationship with the quality administrator, we told him that there were many other functions in JMP to help him and his team. In particular, we told him about the different ways to use data visualization to share the quality report with engineers and customers.”
Iris continues, “In the second half of 2019, Jason Chen and I went to Shanghai Amphenol’s site to demo how they could use the SPC and MSA functions in JMP for their daily work. The quality director was intrigued by our demo. In addition to the site visit, we invited them to marketing events held in Shanghai and Suzhou. The quality team of Shanghai Amphenol saw how other companies used JMP for data analysis.”
Engineers at Shanghai Amphenol had been frustrated with its SPC and MSA platforms, which were scattered and difficult to unite into one. Iris says, “When they used JMP, they were happy to discover that they could do multiple tasks in one platform and then easily share their work with other engineers. So, they decided to add 10 more JMP licenses in January and are planning to add four more later this year.”
