An email from SAS Internal Communications Newsroom was sent to all SAS employees on April 21. I would like to clarify what the information in that email means to JMP’s business.
JMP is not planning on committing any funds to live events through the end of 2021. We reached this decision because committing money, that is often not refundable, in these rather uncertain times makes no sense. This means that JMP Discovery and others marketing in-person conferences will be online only events in 2020 and 2021. As planning is required for 2022, we will decide if we can start to commit funds to live events again.

In-person sales meetings with customers can happen in countries or regions that allow such travel AND if JMP staff feel comfortable with in-person meetings. For example, JMP staff in Korea are meeting with customers at the customer’s request, but are avoiding any form of public transportation.
JMP is not planning any internal meetings that require travel or in-person meetings through the end of March 2021 as was stipulated in the SAS general email. We will find fun ways using Teams Live and other tools to meet, keep connected and teach new employees without the need for in-person meetings.
I sure miss seeing all of you as I traveled around the JMP world. Those days will come again, but for now I will have to see you virtually with whatever real or “imaged” background you are using in Teams.
