How to perform multiple comparison with nested ANOVA?In nested ANOVA, subgroups randomly sampled from a large population are often nested within each treatment group. We are interested in comparing means between treatment groups by accounting for variation from the subgroups. Here are some steps to perform multiple comparison with nested ANOVA in JMP 14.2.0 :
- Arrange data in a long format such that subgroup factor, treatment group factor and response variable are in three separate columns
- Go to "Analyze" menu and click "Fit Model"
- Select "Mixed Model" personality in "Fit Model" dialog and put response variable into Y
- Add treatment group factor into "Fixed Effects" and add the random subgroup factor into "Random Effects" in "Fit Model" dialog
- Run the model and use the "Multiple Comparison" option in the red triangle of "Fit Mixed"
- Select "All Pairwise Comparisons - Tukey HSD" for Tukey HSD test or Dunnett's test if compare to a control in the multiple comparison window
- Look for "Tukey HSD All Pairwise Comparisons" results under "Multiple Comparisons for treatment group" in the "Fit Mixed" window
