Multiple file import - assign JSL handles to tables (or alt method?)

Hi All, hope you all are staying healthy and as happy as possible during this crazy time!

Quick background: A JSL-savvy customer posed the questions below about Multiple File Import (MFI). This post assumes that MFI is multithreaded (MFI Community post) so please correct me, if otherwise.

 

Main question:

Is there a way to assign JSL handles to data tables as they are imported via MFI?

The customer did not provide context here but I am assuming there is some significant data manipulation taking place. If this is not possible then we may consider going 'old school' with some data import JSL...but we can discuss that later, if needed.

Side question: does MFI import files in a particular order or are files opened randomly, as quickly as possible?

Re: Multiple file import - assign JSL handles to tables (or alt method?)In the Scripting Guide it mentions an option called << Set Import Callback(). (https://www.jmp.com/support/help/en/15.1/#page/jmp/import-data-2.shtml). It looks like this option is missing from the Syntax Reference (and scripting index), but appears to give the user the ability to do what you're asking. The Scripting Guide has an example of how to set up this option to create a list of the imported files.
