I would like to start making more use of the "About the Community" section - highlighting articles in the Newsletter, informing members of upcoming releases, gamification, etc. To that end, this discussion will focus on potential changes to the "About the Community" section of the site.
Overall, I like the existing structure.
- Getting Started in the JMP User Community.
- JMP User Community News
- Community Matters
- The title was not obvious to me as to what it represents. Does it to others?
- Community Suggestion Box
- Rename to Community Wish List for consistency with the JMP Wish List
- JMP Super Users Talk
- The Super User program will need a separate review/ideas. Maybe change talk to Discussion (for consistency with other parts of the site).
I liked the Meet the Developer segment of JMP On Air. Maybe we have a "Meet a Community Member" section where we can spotlight top performers, JMP staff, etc.?
Have a section for the Community Newsletters?
On the "About the Community" home page,
- Only display one ad
- Remove Latest Posts from the bottom
- Will need add some component on the right. Maybe Latest Posts? A leaderboard?
Other Khoros customers who have aspects of "About the Community" that I liked:
- Domo. The home page has a Quick Start Links. The Getting Started page has an informative "How to get started" section.
- Alteryx. The content of the Community Resources section contains helpful information. However, I did not find it obvious from the menus on the home page that Community Resources was section to visit.
- Videotron. Has a Discover the Community section on the home page with an FAQ, First Steps, Community Guide, and Gamification.
