Hi Folks,
Thank you for attending the Monthly SE meeting of 16 March 2020.
The agenda was:
We had a discussion (almost brainstorming?!) of best practices of selling via online tools. A couple of friends from Marketing joined us and together we shared some best practices and identify some challenges. We tried to incorporate the ideas of: Relevance, Brevity, Simplicity and Impact as they relate to online selling. Here’s a refresher from our winners at kickoff on that: Relevance, Brevity, Simplicity and Impact
Malcolm Moore in the UK has shared some really excellent reminders from our friends at Great Demo with regard to online selling. This is very relevant now. It’s totally worth a 5 minute read prior to this meeting to get your creative juices flowing. (see links below)
Tina DuBois facilitated a fascinating and useful session also. Here is the description: Learn how to quickly and easily add a connector to link Outlook with Salesforce, for simple creation of new Tasks and Activities, and a one-step meeting scheduler for multiple attendees. Here is the knowledge article:

Happy March!

From Malcolm:
Some timely reminders of how to make remote demos effective here. Although they have failed with regard to brevity! It is more of a features dump. If you do spend time with this, please don’t spend more than one hour. I suggest you start with just one of the first two links if you can spare the time. There is no reason why we can’t make remote demos be just as effective as in-person demos if users are not allowed to host meetings with external visitors.
Best,
Malcolm

Coronavirus and Remote Demos by Unknown on Mar 03, 2020
With the growing concerns about the COVID-19 coronavirus, organizations are cancelling large gatherings and working reduce exposure for employees, third parties and customers.
Accordingly, there will likely be a sharp rise in the use of web-delivered demos (via Zoom, WebEx, GoToMeeting, etc.).
To help you make your Remote Demos as effective as possible, here are a number of terrific resources:
- Webinar Recording: The fine folks at Zoom hosted this webinar featuring Peter Cohan introducing (and demonstrating) best practices to capture and engage audiences over the web. The recording of this 1 hour session can be found here.
- Article: Great Demo! Remote Demos Best Practices: This most recent article harvests some of the best and most recent practices. You can find the article here.
- Article: Remote Demos – The Role of the Active Conduit: This articles identifies and details an often unconsidered best practice. You can find it here.
- Article: Stunningly Awful Remote Demos – The Top Ten List of Inflicting Pain at a Distance: A bit older, more humorous summary of best (and worst) practices. Located here.
- Article: Stunningly Awful Web “Overview” Demos – The Gruesome Anatomy of a 1-Hour Web Overview: An in-depth exposure to the hazards of traditional demos delivered over the web. You can find this gem here.
- There are more articles (and PDF’s of the articles above) on our Articles web page – enjoy!
- Remote Coaching: All Great Demo! Affiliates are ready to help you (and your teams) via remote coaching for Demos, Remote Demos, Doing Discovery, Storytelling, Managing POC’s and other presales practices). Contact us to discuss.
