Sorry, but how can I get JMP to recognize a fraction as a number?Sorry all,
For the life of me, I cannot remember how to get JMP to recognize a fraction as a number. i.e. 1 ⅓ cup as 1.3334 cups.
Anybody got a hint here? Seems kind of basic. But I rather to decimals, but not all information on the web or in the old imperial system (US mainly) displays things as decimals.
Thanks,
Re: Sorry, but how can I get JMP to recognize a fraction as a number?I am not sure if this action is what you are trying to do, but you can type "=1+1/3" where ever a number might be entered, such as in a row of a data column or a number entry box.
Re: Sorry, but how can I get JMP to recognize a fraction as a number?Ya, that does not seem to work in a JMP data table to enter "=1+1/3" in to a field for a single row within a column but removing the double quotes does. I think that works for a few entries but when I have 30 entries, that does seem to be tedious, especially when I already have a table with the fractions from a different source and multiple other columns.
I guess I will put in a request for native support of fractionsRe: Sorry, but how can I get JMP to recognize a fraction as a number?Chris, try this formula, which assumes there is a space between the number and the fraction:

Re: Sorry, but how can I get JMP to recognize a fraction as a number? That works. Thanks. I would think that supporting fraction natively would be helpful in some cases.
