Convert time data format from character h:mm AM to continous h:m:s

I have an issue with data downloaded from a measurement instrument. The time-stamp data is downloaded in the CSV file as e.g. 8:15 AM or 16:08 PM - this is imported into JMP as a character column - I would really like it in the continuous format hh:mm:ss (ss=00) - is there a quick fix or do I need extensive formula/scripting?

When you go to download into JMP one of your csv files, you can click on the file and then specify to "Use Preview" to specify how to read the file in. You can then indicate to use the "h:m" informat to read in the time field.
