Can JMP connect to SciGlass Database?<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />Hey,
A customer (CEA) would like to connect to this database from JMP.
SciGlass - Glass Information System - Glass Database - Glass Properties
is it possible?
I'm not able to do the test on my computer. I have a windows compatibility issue....
Thank for your answer,
Florence
Re: Can JMP connect to SciGlass Database?Looks like you have your answer for CEA:
1) They can output csv files in a limited way and import those to JMP, or
2) They can collaborate with SciGlass to have SciGlass capable of exporting data to JMP or alternatively collaborate with SciGlass to increase capabilities for outputting data to csv which can be easily read into JMP, it is likely SciGlass may want to charge CEA for this, or
3) Collaborate with external consultant such as Francois Bergeret to develop a custom tool to output data from ScGlass to JMP on a time and materials basis.

Re: Can JMP connect to SciGlass Database?Hey Malcolm,
here is the response from SciGlass team....

Dear Florence,
thanks for your interest in SciGlass, great questions. SciGlass is actually a stand-alone proprietary database (not ODBC), which is tightly integrated with the application. Bulk, data export is not possible, as the data is the value and we had it locked up for a number of reasons. We do offer limited export in CSV format.
Just curious, what kind of project are you considering? We do offer integration services, so if JMP or SAS has a client in need of integrating SciGlass data with statistical services, we can certainly collaborate.
Sincerely,
Alex.

Re: Can JMP connect to SciGlass Database?Hi Florence,
Can CEA tell you what output formats SciGlass support as it is not obvious they support any data output formats from their website? E.g. do they provide odbc support, output to txt, Excel?
