Heading to Discovery Summit Munich? We have a great game for you during your time at the conference: The JMP Live Data Challenge!
What is the JMP Live Data Challenge?
The JMP Live Data Challenge is a game for all attendees where they can participate in a conference-wide data game where you can learn about your fellow conference attendees through their (anonymous) answers to fun and interesting questions. And the best part is you can download the entire data set from JMP Public, do your own analyses and create your own visualizations.
How do I play?
When checking in at registration attendees will be given a sticker to put on the back of their badge. This sticker will have their JMP Live Data Challenge ID. Once you have this on your badge you use this number as you enter your data at the different data points. This will allow you to find yourself in the data and be able to compare your answers to others.
From there will be 10 different locations or “data points” around the conference. These data point locations will be indicated by a JMP Live Data Challenge sign:

When attendees scan the code they will be taken to a short survey where they will be asked to enter their anonymous JMP Live Data Challenge ID number and then to answer a few quick questions about that specific data point.
Once they enter their information it will be automatically updated to a JMP Public report. This data will live in JMP Public for you to see and play with and find yourself in the data.
Where are all of these data points?
The 10 data points are located throughout the conference:
- Registration Desk
- Customer Care Desk
- Meet the Developer Ped
- JMP Live Ped
- Meet the Developer Ped
- Meet the Developer Ped
- STIPS Ped
- Life Sciences Developer Ped
- JMP Lab
- String Theory Wall
If you can't find any of the locations, please ask any JMP staff member.
What will I win?
Once you complete all 10 data points, the first 50 attendees will receive the special brass JMP Live caliper to make your measurements as precise as possible. To redeem your prize, head to the customer care desk.

But that's not where the fun ends. Look below to see how you compare. You can interact with the survey data, download the most up to date data to investigate your own questions. For instance, do German really like beer more than the French? Do you own more or less tie dyed t-shirts than the average conference attendee?
A Note on Data Privacy:
Because your ID number is random and not identifiable to you, none of the data will be linked to your identity and will be fully anonymous.
