Yesterday we had a conversation with a customer who wants to plan monthly 1.5 hour lunch and learns to get 40 to 60 people up to speed on JMP and statistics. I suggested they could use parts of the Statistical Thinking course for these sessions, but they were not clear on which parts, or how to plan this. I offered to create a plan for using the course in this way.
My question to you is: do you have other customers who have expressed interest in doing something similar? And what requirements did they have?
For example this customer has limited time, wants to use their data, already knows some subject matter, and will have big variation of JMP and statistics knowledge of people in attendance.
I would like to create a road map for how companies might use the course in this way, but want it to address as many requirements from different customers as possible. Once I create the plan, I'll share it here and hopefully write a blog post about how the process works, and their success with it.
thanks,
Ledi
One of our most active customers has implemented STIPS in their training strategy:
- every 2 weeks
- 2 people prepare one or two chapter of one module, condense the information into a 5 minute demo
- They present this in a 30min meeting and talk in addition about how this could be of help for their use cases and potentially show an example on their data
- Then they all discuss the last minutes about making most benefit out of that
- Next time two other people prepare the next chapters of interest.
Feedback so far: Many happy people, as they
- do not have to spend all the full amount of time in the course (which is almost infeasible)
- get a compact summary of the condensed information
- get a direct relation to their use cases
- can discuss if, how and when to apply this which has direct impact on their work (e.g. define someone who creates one report all will use from now on)
- gain personal benefit like reputation when presenting to others
Thanks for sharing @martindemel, this is a great approach!
