ADshare – Streamlined Data Analysis
ADShare is an innovative sharing platform which contains a suite of powerful analytical and reporting tools developed using JMP by ADI engineers. ADShare simplifies data preparation, drives ad hoc analysis and produces interactive graphical outputs at a click of a button.
Background
Ever increasing volumes of data and time constraints provide significant challenges for engineers today. Currently it is common place for engineers to work in isolation solving similar analysis problems using numerous tools and methods to come to the same result.
Data analysis is a core function of the New Product Engineering group (NPE) within Analog Devices. The group leverages from many individual JMP scripts to deal with the day to day repetitive tasks. This gave rise to the opportunity to collate all these useful tools into one user friendly updatable platform and make it accessible to all JMP users.
Solution
ADShare uses jsl scripting to leverage from JMP’s powerful graphical and analytical solutions. ADShare is a hosting platform with an intuitive user interface, comprised of key components which enable the user to complete data preparation, data analysis and data plotting tasks. These components are built from robust scripts which have been specifically developed by the team to solve common in-house analytical tasks. The scripts are stored in a securely maintained central location, this location is version controlled utilising Bitbucket. Google Analytics is used to analyse tool and script usage, this allows developers to strategically prioritise scripts. A key aim of the team is also to encourage other JMP users within Analog Devices to contribute their own scripts. This will inspire shared learning and creator recognition amongst the jsl developer community within Analog.
