If you are planning on using PowerPoint in front of an audience, you might want people to immediately watch your presentation as a slide show instead of seeing the slides in edit mode. Save your PowerPoint presentation as a PowerPoint Show (a .ppsx file) so it automatically starts the slide show when the file is opened. Hitting Esc on your keyboard at the end of the show closes the viewer window.
Once you save as .ppsx you can open the slideshow automatically from a journal using a script button containing the open() function.
Open("Great Demo.ppsx",ppsx);
This has worked great for me when I want to share content where a slide(s) is appropriate without compromising progress on my PowerPoint extinction plan!
Thanks to Mike Anderson for suggesting I share this trick with the Community.
