Hi Is there any clever way that I can see the degrees of freedom when I create a control chart (XbarR, XbarS and Xm/Individual):

Are you thinking of the span for x-bar and R or S charts?

Hi Byron, this comes from work done by Wheeler (https://www.qualitydigest.com/june97/html/spctool.html). I use the tables in EMP III Evaluating the measurement process & using imperfect data (Chapt 17.6). Its applicable to Xm, XbarR etc

These values are given in the Measurement Systems Analysis platform under the Quality menu.
