help with what test and how to run itHi, i am new to jmp and I was hoping someone might explain to me what test and how to run it in jmp for a specific question:
I am looking at the effect of a nominal outcome (yes or no response). One of the factors that will influence this the outcome is based on a continuous variable (a specific test). However that continuous variable (test) is potentially related to the age of that person when they underwent the test (another continuous variable). So I am looking to see if the test, when controlled for age, is going to have an impact on the outcome (yes or no).
Thanks
Re: help with what test and how to run itThis analysis is actually quite straight-forward.
- Set up a separate data column for Outcome, Factor, and Age. You can use whatever names you like, of course.
- Make sure that the modeling type for Outcome is nominal.
- Make sure that the factor and age are defined for numeric data and use continuous modeling type.
- Enter the data one observation per row.
- Select Analyze > Fit Model.
- Select the Outcome data column and click Y.
- Select the Factor and Age columns and click Add.
- If it is possible that the effect of Factor is age-dependent, then select the Factor and Age columns again and click Cross.
- The upper right should automatically change Personality to Nominal Logistic Regression.
- Click Run.
Please see JMP Help > Books > Fitting Linear Models > Nominal Logistic Regression chapter for more information and examples.
