First off we need to decide what kind of translation you need to decide your next move. I would categorize them as the following:
Customer Stories / Articles:
- Translation requester sends completed English AEM page(s) through Smartling via "AEM page translation" process.
- Once completed, to reuse Translation Memory [TM], initiate the “Non-web page translation” process.
White papers / Book Chapters:
- Translation requester sends completed English AEM page(s) through Smartling via "AEM page translation" process.
- Immediately initiate the “Non-web page translation” process as well. (No significant reusable TM value)
General Web page (in English):
- Translation requester sends completed English AEM page(s) through Smartling via "AEM page translation" process.
Emails in AEM:
- You must submit email translations from the Blueprint (jmpbp). Follow the guide here.
Note: There is no support from a non-English language to another language in Smartling. (E.g. From Japanese to German) If you need this done, contact Cary marketing.

Important: 3-month timespan for marketing translation jobs
Getting translations to market late means losing momentum -- and business opportunities. To prevent this from happening, we’re implementing a clear and reasonable timeline to ensure that localized content gets to market in a timely manner.
Beginning February 2022, the official timespan to complete translation jobs will be three months.
Translation projects that remain open longer than three months in the internal review step without any business justification will be canceled. Our global teams will need to prepare for this change by establishing accountability and getting organized to deliver translated content on time.
The more agile we can be in communicating with our prospects, customers and users, the more competitive we become.
