Can someone point me to the resident expert on JMP 14 Text Analysis for Asia? We have an EA client that has some questions (see below):
I reached out and now have a few users in Asia (both in China and in Japan) who are testing out the Early Adopter version of the Text Explorer portion of JMP. We are looking for additional information or a contact who might be able to assist with the Asian language portions. The current tools/instructions are not necessarily intuitive for application to Japanese/Chinese, although they are fine for English.
For example, I received the following:
“It seems there would be slightly different setting (i.e. minimum characters per word, etc) needed to cope with Japanese unique language factors (i.e. use of 3 types of letters plus alphabets & numbers, a word is not separated by space but we recognize by combinations, etc)
And, if I choose [Japanese], the selection for [Stemming] and [Tokenizing] turn GRAY. à Is this default?
I wonder how [Customize Tokenizing] might help Japanese, but don’t know how to use. “
Jerry,
Our team will soon start the planning for JMP14 SE training at kickoff and I might be assigned to the text analysis of Chinese texts :-). But, as of now, I haven't played that new feature yet. Sorry......
