Recent update to Excel creates XLSX that cannot be opened with JMPBe aware that a recent update to Excel changed the format of XLSX files and no current version of JMP can open them.
We are working on a 13.2.1 update which will be able to open these files. This update is being fastracked and we plan to make this available soon as an updater and just a little bit longer for full installers.
Please let your customers know about this issue. Any customer who updates to JMP 13.2 and updates Excel also will need to update to 13.2.1 when it is available.
You can learn more and see our external messaging for this here.

Re: Recent update to Excel creates XLSX that cannot be opened with JMPIf they automatically get Excel updates, but not JMP updates, then the first choice would be to persuade the IT department to change that policy. If that is impossible, the original guidance is best: Save as XLS format for the time being if you must save a file in Excel format at all. This is only necessary for Excel 2016 and Office 365 users. Excel 2013 users are unaffected. If the user receives files saved by the newer Excel, and they cannot upgrade JMP, they will not be able to open the file on the Windows version. There is no workaround.

Re: Recent update to Excel creates XLSX that cannot be opened with JMPSome customers have IT rules prevent upgrading for certain amount of time often because of regulatory or safety reasons. E.g. only upgrade to the *.1 version. What can we tell those people in case they run into the Excel issue? "Do not update your Excel? But update your JMP?"
Is there anything we could do for customers who cannot prevent first and have no influence on second?
