Hi All,
I downloaded JMP 14 Pro from our internal employee downloads URL and installed JMP Pro 14.0.0 for Windows.
downloads.na.sas.com
I then went to File>Preferences to make sure I have "Check for Updates" checked in the JMP Updates Preference Group. But I was met with a big surprise...the JMP Updates Preference Group was missing! Here is what it is supposed to look like:

It's Missing! Anybody got an idea of where it went?

I updated the Community settings to allow .txt files and edited Bob's note above to attach the .txt file.
The installers were missing a file that controls whether Updates are shown or not. It was an oversight on my part. I have corrected the installers and replaced the downloads using the same links.
The file missing is a tiny text file named JMPInstallOrigin.txt , which I attached to this note which you will need to place into the JMP or JMPPro installed location. I have also placed the TXT file in this folder \\jmpsrv01\users\Hickey\InstallOrigin
It's the same file for JMP and JMP Pro. You do not have to uninstall and re-install.
This file exists to be strategic in offering the customer an option to control whether their end user would be able to easily check for updates. The JMP Deployment Guide explains this file:
JMPInstallOrigin.txt
This file, when installed, allows the user to check for JMP software updates from the JMP
Preferences page. If the administrator does not want the user to be able to check for software
updates, they should delete this file from the software depot before installation so it is not
installed.

I heard a JMP Trial build actually was placed somewhere where there should have been a regular build. The Trial doesn't have a JMP Updates section. Did you get prompted for a serial number? Or, does the startup screen show a serial number rather than a PER file reference?

Did you try using the search feature in the preferences window? Maybe it got moved.
