Concur and National Rental Car Defect/Best Practice IncidentJust in case this ever happens to you...today I tried to reserve a car through Concur using the usual workflow along with air and hotel reservations. At the reserve a car phase of the flow, Concur showed that both National and Enterprise had no cars available. Concur did offer a minivan from Avis for two days for a whopping $265. I thought...OK...for what I'm doing it's time to enroll in Uber then to save SAS some money. Then I immediately went on to my National car app on my phone (which is tied to the SAS contract with National) and tried to rent using that pathway. Rental went through as needed...estimated total $62.26.
Re: Concur and National Rental Car Defect/Best Practice IncidentThanks Chris...I just had a brain cramp and didn't even think to call SAS travel as an alternative.
Re: Concur and National Rental Car Defect/Best Practice IncidentHi Peter,
If you have issues with concur, then call travel directly. You can complete the reservations and add the car later. I have to do some thing like this in the past.
With that said, sometimes have found myself in an emergency (and the emergency line still seems to no work if no one answers the line) and I book a hotel or car directly from the apps. I have never had pushback on this last part by the way.
So, in summary, call travel first, they are very friendly, then book through your own app if the former does not work.
