Text Explorer and Mathematical Expressions?A prospect asked the question today about the ability of Text Explorer to work with complicated mathematical formulas embedded in documents. Think Technometrics level...not a first grade math textbook. My guess is if one could build the symbols into the custom regular expression capability it could work? Thoughts, 'gotchas'? Their analytic objective is looking for plagarism and perhaps trying to build a classification model for copyright infringement detection. Or this more of a SAS Text Analytics space?
Re: Text Explorer and Mathematical Expressions? It would depend, but the markup languages used for math in word, google, etc. even LaTeX are pretty straight forward and should be able to be parsed reliably by Regex. There are probably Regex Expressions out there for this kind of thing already.
Best,
