Can customers use JMP sample data for their own training course material?Hey all, happy new year!
One of our local six sigma consultants asked me if she could use JMP sample data in training materials that she develops. Anybody know about restrictions on the use of this data?
Thanks,
Jordan

We probably need a definition of use.
If you mean can she reference them in her training materials, there shouldn't be a problem.
If you mean can she redistribute them outside of JMP, I expect not.
@danielvalente may have some insight and/or a contact in legal to consider this in the context of the partner program.
Re: Can customers use JMP sample data for their own training course material?Pretty sure it’s allowed with training for licensed users of JMP… but I bet they would be violating the license agreement by including it in a non JMP context. Though, a lot of the data we use is available on the web or textbooks. So, what they can find on the web (Wikipedia, Kaggle, etc.) or cite principal sources for is probably okay. The Document team in development might also have some insights. They deal with data licensing issues all the time.
Best,
