Ideas for Advanced DOE Curriculum and ContentsHi Friends
Korean ELA Customer, SK Hynix asked Advanced DOE Seminar/Training.
We are thinking about the cucrriculum and contents.
Please let me know your ideas and experience for curriculum and contents
-Seminar : Advanced DOE
-Attendee : Data Scientist and Internal DOE Trainer
-2 days Course
Re: Ideas for Advanced DOE Curriculum and ContentsHi, Dan
Thank you for your feedback. I know the meaning of your comment.
Their main objective is training their internal DOE trainer.
Thank youRe: Ideas for Advanced DOE Curriculum and Contents@IkjuShin - Just to add to what @Dan_Obermiller said. Based on what you've described you really need to get them in touch with the JMP/SAS Education Team. The more you describe this the more it sounds out of scope for an SE. If there's no new revenue, and it's not explicitly part of the ELA contract, this isn't going to help you reach your 2018 sales goals.
Just my read on this.

Re: Ideas for Advanced DOE Curriculum and ContentsPeter is entirely correct: what is covered will depend on their objectives. Honestly, it sounds like they are truly looking for training, and not just a typical demo.
Thank you for the additional details on the topics. Design diagnostics are covered in the Custom Design of Experiments course. They are spread throughout the course as they are presented where they are most relevant. There are many aspects of a good design, and the appropriate diagnostic is presented with those aspects.
The other items would require a custom-built training session. Only limited materials exist. My team would be happy to work with you and the customer to do this, if warranted.
You can share our course notes, if you must, but please only in limited quantities. Remember that training material, like our software, is intellectual property. The material has value. There needs to be a significant added value in terms of software purchases before we consider giving any training material away.
Re: Ideas for Advanced DOE Curriculum and ContentsHi Dan,
Thank you for your comment.
They are interesting in design dianostics, covering array, noninear design and space filling design than modern screening design and mixture design.
Could you let me share some material related with theire interest ?
Thanks
Re: Ideas for Advanced DOE Curriculum and ContentsOne more thought...for sample learning objectives I recommend taking a look at the course overview tab contained on all the course description documentation over on the SAS Education web site for JMP training. @Dan_Obermiller's team does a great job with some pretty specific "Learn how to..." statements in the course overview tab. Course objectives such as 'learn DOE' are just not specific enough...
Re: Ideas for Advanced DOE Curriculum and ContentsMy initial suggestion wrt to establishing a curriculum is to answer the following questions:
1. What do you want the participants to know or be able to do as a result of completing the curriculum?
2. What are the minimum skills required of an incoming participant?
The answers to these two questions will help establish the learning objectives of the curriculum. From these learning objectives, then you design the curriculum to satify the objectives.
Re: Ideas for Advanced DOE Curriculum and ContentsMany times data scientists know little about DOE. You could start with the Custom Design of Experiments course. That may even work with the internal DOE trainer since they often only teach the classical designs. However, that course is not advanced.
The Modern Screening Designs course would also be helpful, and maybe the Design and Analysis of Mixture Experiments. Both of those courses could be considered to have advanced topics.
If you have any questions about this training material, please contact me.
