Purpose
To train, support, and maintain our small and medium account JMP users by partnering with JMP Education. This ensures that JMP users are getting the most out of their JMP investment, are aware of the available resources, additional training education offers, and to develop the relationship between JMP sales and local users while inspiring users to learn more.
Requirements
Attendees need to be a licensed JMP User and falls under a “small – medium” account (companies with less than 200 users). If they currently do not have access to their license or will be getting a license after the workshop they want to attend, they can download the 30-day free trial to use for the workshop.

It is designed for beginning users of JMP and for anyone who would like a refresher on the software. You’ll gain an interactive introduction to JMP.
- Jump Into DOE: This complimentary online Hands-On Workshop is an exclusive opportunity to quickly expand your analytic skills, guided by our technical experts. It is designed for intermediate to advanced users who have used JMP for at least one year and are interested in learning more about design of experiments (DOE) in JMP. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of DOE using both the Easy DOE and Custom Design platforms. The workshop also covers analysis of experimental data.
- Jump Into Quality: This complimentary online workshop is an exclusive opportunity to quickly expand your analytic skills, guided by our technical experts. It is designed for intermediate to advanced users with at least one year of JMP experience, and who would like to dive deeper into quality. You will learn statistical process control, process screening, and measurement analysis.
- Jump Into Graphing: This complimentary online workshop is an exclusive opportunity to quickly expand your analytic skills, guided by our technical experts. It is designed for any JMP user with interest in data visualization. Only minimal experience in JMP (opening files, using menus and dialog boxes) is required. You will learn about common graphs, principles of good graphs, what to avoid, and get step-by-step instructions, including customizations, for some examples.

Workshop Overview
- JMP Hands-On Workshops are designed for existing JMP users to demonstrate some of JMP’s capabilities and help expand JMP use. There are currently four Hands-On Workshop offerings. “Jump-Start with JMP” which is designed for novice users, “Jump into DOE” is for more experienced users, "Jump Into Graphing which is designed for all users, and “Jump Into Quality” for our intermediate to advanced users.
- Workshops are free to users and planned in partnership with User Enablement Event Team, JMP Education, and JMP Sales.
- Workshops are not public courses. Email blasts are sent to our small-medium accounts. Sales can personally invite customer to the workshops. These events are meant to introduce what a JMP Education class is like, and to help incentivize buying/upgrade behaviour or speed up the buying process.
- Workshops are hosted virtually via Zoom
- A JMP trainer presents hands-on material and users follow along. An assigned JMP SE also presents several demos. These demos are not hands-on.
- A pre-recorded recording will be shared with all who registered after the event. This recording is only the trainer’s portions. By attending online, they receive the benefit of the System Engineers demo.

Lessons Learned/Best Practices
- All course notes, course files, and PDF’s will be sent to the registrant in their confirmation email after they register.
- Limit attendance to 125-150 users – this ensures each attendee is following along, can ask questions, and interact between the trainer, System Engineer, and attendee. We have a 50% no show rate.
- Suggest new users complete the “New User Welcome Kit” prior to attending Jump-Start with JMP.
- If not using the latest version of JMP then attendee needs to download the trial and use it during the workshop.
- Zoom chat is saved to send with post event survey results.
- Trainers need to monitor the chat window and field questions while the SE presents.
- SE needs to monitor the chat window and field questions while the Trainer presents.
- Create and send a survey to all registrant’s post-event.
JMP Hands-On Workshop Sales Q&A
- Q: When/how will JMP be promoting these on the website?
- A: We do not promote the workshops on the website. This is because these events are designed for our small and medium sized accounts who don’t get the advantage of JMP Days or other User Enablement planned events. Virtual capacity for this event is a max of 75 attendees. We register up to 150 with a 50% no show rate.
- Q: Who should be invited?
- A: We ask the sales teams invite users who would benefit the most. The initial recruitment of attendees is meant to be strategic for the sales team. We want to invite users that could incentivize buying/upgrade behaviour or speed up the buying process. Additionally, for users who may have just received a license, the Jump start workshop could give them the extra attention they need to start using JMP successfully.
- Q: Does the attendee have to have a JMP License?
- A: Yes, this event is not a prospecting event.
- Q: Will there be an email campaign? If so, which customers will be targeted?
- A: . An email blast will be scheduled two weeks prior to the event. This blast will be sent to companies with less than 200 users from the US and Canada.
- Q: How can people sign up if they want to? Is there a landing page?
- A: The email blast will have links to connect them to the registration page for each workshop. I also create a thank you page that they will see once they have registered. They will receive a reply email to their inbox with a calendar appointment, zoom link, and website link to download the course notes, course files, and PDF’s.
- Q: What materials/agenda do you have that we can use to promote the event?
- A: In order to have a successful workshop, the most important part is the sales team actively inviting customers prior to the email blast date.
- Q: Who will the instructor(s) be?
- A: Either Ledi Trutna, Di Michelson, or Monica Beals from JMP Education will be presenting the Hands-On portion of the workshop. An assigned SE will present the non-hands-on portion in a demo format.
- Q: How can we help?
- A: Reach out to your customers who you think would benefit from this workshop prior to the blast. If there is someone you believe would benefit from all three workshops just let me know. With limited capacity we want to ensure that we are reaching as large of an audience as possible.
