- Current State
- Distribution of the software has worked well
- But training content will be critical
- +100 was a difficult sell (199 before and had only given out 125).
- Proved it out with cases of increment yield Improvement
- Pushed payments out into January so can hit new budget.
- Introducing New Trainer
- Dan, ton of experience in semi (photo mask guy)
- 30 years at AMD in photo…then merged into Cypress
- Used JMP for DOE
- Also used JMP in Six Sigma Black Belt (ASQ Certified) at Cypress
- Will teach Statistics and JMP at SAS (Principal Instructor)
- Modules Discussion
- Case Study Approach to Data Exploration (1 day)
- Customer wants this latest JMP 12 case based version of course
- ANOVA and Regression (2 days)
- MSA (1 day)
- Custom Design of Experiments (2 days)
- Wants Custom DOE in JMP for Screening, not Classic DOE in JMP course
- Custom DOE does a nice job of exploring design balance vs. sample size
- Can teach any needed Classic DOE on their own
- Module Material Needs:
- Needs both electronic and paper versions
- Deborah will send one hardbound to Dan and the electronic version
- They will swap out any needed examples to make semiconductor relevant
- All Engineers will go though the entire curriculum (even if had some subject matter in the past)
- Train-the-Trainer:
- Course Training Lengths: 6 Days Total
- Case Study Approach to Data Exploration (1 day)
- ANOVA and Regression (2 days)
- MSA (1 day)
- Custom Design of Experiments (2 days)
- Recommend six days of full Train-the-Trainer
- Customer wanted at first a separate face-to-face meeting between Dan S. (Internal Trainer) and JMP Trainers (Ledi or Di)
- JMP Training recommended doing Trainer-the-Trainer during a live class for at least 15 Engineers to really learn how to deliver the material
- Same cost as doing a separate Train-the-Trainer, but more effective and can get class trained while cross-training the instructor
- Timing
- Week of January 11th is the earliest opportunity for JMP Trainers to start the course/train-the-trainer
- Ben wil have to take care on how to properly budget this $24K training portion
- Future JMP Need:
- Software: Will run out of the 299 by as early as April or May (consume 170 more by May)
- Total Engineers at site: 850

- Ben to look at how to best budget for a January start for the live class rotation with train-the-trainer
- Dan O. and Deborah to look at training resources, locations available, and how to break up the initial training module 6 days
- Penciled in minimum of Exploratory course for week of January 11th
- All to meet back in early January to discuss progress and get firmer on event dates/times
