Re: Notes: September Global Marketing MeetingHi everyone!
Thanks again for a great meeting yesterday. I am happy to report that Hurricane Dorian was mostly uneventful for Raleigh and Cary. The schools have been closed for the last two days and we had lots of wind and rain last night, but thankfully only a few down tree limbs.
Here's a recap of the meeting. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
New Seminar Series!
Diana gave an overview of the new seminar series for 2020. Here are some of her key takeaways:
- The name is TBD as “unscripted” did not translate properly to all areas of the world.
- All Explorers events should cease as of 12/31/2019.
- These events will be geared towards prospects only, no users. This means Jeff’s team is in discussion to expand customer care events to fill the gap.
- The format will be a panel discussion (so no SE demos although we want SEs to attend to chat with prospects). High-level, thought-provoking and lively discussion amongst a group of customers, thought leaders and perhaps a member of R&D or product marketing.
- Each event will be streamed live on the web.
- Ideal venues include art galleries, museums, aquariums, auditoriums at universities, etc. We would like to stay away from hotels to make it feel like more of a unique experience. Capacity at the venue should be between 50-100.
- Locations should be selected based on areas where folks live that are included in the high-growth account lists, not based on sales person territory.
- In the US, there will be 12 next year (one a month).
- We have some excellent Explorers webinars online. These will not go away. Larry, Amy, John, Aaron and others will work to determine which ones should be kept and how they will be surfaced.
- More info to come!
30-year anniversary news
We will launch the 30-year anniversary at DS in Arizona next month. The opening dinner will be a celebration of the anniversary and we will have a large anniversary showcase in the lower level of the hotel. It will be in 3 sections:
- JMP Superusers—featuring customers over the years that have used “data for good”.
- Jump Through The Years—a trivia area where folks will have an opportunity to dig through the decades of data in JMP Public. There will be a quiz on this data, and a specified number of correct answers will win you some of our new JMP commemorative postage stamps.
- JMP Through The Years—this will consist of a then and now area (which include an old MAC that runs Version 1), along with a timeline that highlights some important world events since 1989 mixed in with events important to JMP.
Amy is happy to share these materials with you when the designer has completed if you would like to reuse some or all portions at events from Oct 2019 to Oct 2020. We also hope to run a blog series featuring customers that have been JMP users a long time. If you have a customer like this, please contact Amy. Also contact Amy if you need the set of new 30-year logos to use on giveaways, signage and such.
JMP Live!
Sara gave an overview of all the campaign plans, activities and assets to help you communicate JMP Live. This information can be found in the community here: https://community.jmp.com/t5/JMP-Sales-and-Marketing-Library/JMP-Live-FAQ/ta-p/67247. Sara mentioned that the bulk of the material at the top is for sales so please make sure you see the marketing tools section at the bottom of Dan’s post. Also, Ryan has created a beautiful new JMP LIVE banner that will be featured across all jmp.com home pages when the product launches.
Content Update
Larry, our marketing star of the month, shared some new changes coming to the application area pages. He also mentioned that we will be changing up some of the processes regarding translations—to be shared at a later meeting. Please don’t make your travel arrangements yet for kick-off (because we might be adding a training day AND we might be moving the date due to Chinese New Year…stay tuned). His presentation can be found here:
